Marion Revis Hunt | |

Marion Revis Hunt, who went by the name Revis or Rev, was born on January 31, 1845 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. His parents were
James McCord Hunt (1807-1865) and Hannah Minton (1806-1886). He moved with his family to Texas between the years of 1850 and 1860, where
they settled in Fannin County, Texas. Revis was the seventh of eight children. His siblings included: Levi, Eldred, Nancy, Joseph, Ellis, George, and Sarah.
Revis married Nancy Gilmore prior to 1872. The two had 9 boys including in order: Al, Sam, O.T., Robert, Joe, Dee, Marion, Jay, and Purl. It is believed that they had a child that died before Al was born. The family moved to Erath County Texas (near Stephenville) in about 1888. Marion, Jay, and Purl were all born in Erath County, the previous six being born in Fannin County. They moved one last time to Eastland County between the years of 1897 and 1900. The family lived on the banks of the Colony Creek, just south of the Merriman community in Eastland County. Marion Revis Hunt died on February 13, 1925 in Ranger, Texas.
